Last Friday, we responded to Governor Granholms stonewalling tactic regarding the conflict of interest at the "Chief Operating Officer" level of her office. The Michigan Republican Party filed a request for documents under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). We hope she will address this problem, beginning with a response to this request. Its relevant to note that the Executive Office is exempt from FOIA. The Governor can claim Executive Privilege and release no information. We are not naïve and fully expect this reaction; ducking direct questions has been her "modus operandi" for more than a year now. But we keep our fingers crossed that Governor Granholm will live up to her promises of open, ethical government. Keep your fingers crossed as well!
