Recently it was brought to light that Governor Granholm turned down the chance to meet with an emissary of free Iraq for the purpose of discussing how Michigans tradition of strong manufacturing could be used to help rebuild the country. Apparently, she had more important things to do than stimulate Michigans economy and help a liberated people get back on their feet. Her offices response was to quibble over words and split hairs. However you split them, Granholm had the opportunity to do the right thing, but, as has become all to common, she swung and missed.
