Day 2: Believe in Michigan - Jobs First‏

November 3, 2012

Cadillac, Mich., Nov. 3, 2012 – Good evening, day two of the “Believe in Michigan – Jobs First” bus tour has just wrapped up in Cadillac, Michigan as we end the night en route to Midland tomorrow morning. We kicked off the morning at the Kent County GOP Headquarters where more than 100 activists and families came out to hear from the Republican ticket and work to change the direction of our country.

At each stop, whether it was a victory center, county GOP office or when we spoke with taxpayers at House of Flavors, we heard the same message, again and again: The U.S. economy is weak, families have been hammered by the President’s failed policies and hardworking middle class families are ready for Gov. Mitt Romney’s bold leadership.

While the bus traveled along West Michigan, Tobin and Oakleigh Ryan met with activists in Southeast Michigan and along the I-94 corridor. Meanwhile, Democrats, scrambling to hold onto Michigan due to their deflated ground game, brought in Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Activists welcomed the DNC Chair by dropping off a complimentary razors and shaving cream to assist with David Axelrod’s pending mustache removal when Michigan goes to Mitt Romney.

No matter how hard Democrats try, Michigan Republicans and the Romney-Michigan team have put together the strongest ground game that’s already generating hundreds of thousands of contacts each day as we kick our GOTV operation into overdrive for the next 72 hours.

Perhaps the lack of enthusiasm on the Democratic side can be summed up by the fact that at each stop along the bus tour today, victory centers were packed with activists while Debbie Stabenow managed to round up only 50 people in Metro Detroit.
