Debate Draws Sharp Contrasts between Republican Ideas and Obama’s Failures

ROCHESTER – A sharp contrast was drawn this evening when eight Republican Presidential candidates discussed how to grow jobs and get the country on the right track, following Barack Obama’s chronic failures resulting in three years of economic stagnation.

“Tonight confirmed that the road to the White House runs through Michigan,” said Michigan Republican Party Chairman Bobby Schostak, following the debate. “Our candidates struck a responsive chord with Michiganders, who understand how important it is to have a president who brings a new direction for the sake of our nation and our children.”

Schostak said Michigan’s economic picture is improving because Governor Rick Snyder and Republican leaders in Lansing have been decisive and enacted policies to help ensure the long-term security of families and improve Michiganders’ quality of life.

“The debate showed that the type of Republican leadership we have in Lansing is needed in the White House in 2012,” Schostak said. “Michigan Republicans will work at all levels – our grassroots, our county and district chairs – in 2012 to ensure a Republican wins the White House and sets a new course for Michigan and America.”
