Steele gains national attention for challenge against Dingell

August 31, 2010

Lansing, MI— Dr. Rob Steele, Republican candidate for Congress in the 15th District, will appear on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1.

“Add John Dingell to the list of those put on notice for November,” said Michigan Republican Party Director of Communications Jennifer Hoff. “People all around the country know that we need responsive representatives. Steele’s ‘listen to the people’ approach is in striking contrast to Dingell’s listen to Obama and Pelosi approach.”

Dr. Steele’s opponent, John Dingell, is an entrenched Washington, D.C. establishment politician. Since the 1950s, he has held the same seat his father held and rarely been challenged.

“Dingell is no stranger to voting in favor of Washington big government over the will of the people,” Hoff said. “His vote to shove government-run healthcare down our throats and interfere with doctor-patient relationships proves he’s been in Washington too long and that he’s out of touch with Michigan families.”

Dr. Steele is a practicing cardiologist and has served on numerous boards and nonprofits in the local area. He is a Michigan native and University of Michigan graduate that works with regular people every day.

“Rob Steele recognizes that the people are overwhelmingly opposed to the Dingell-lead attack on our nation’s healthcare,” Hoff continued. “As an expert in the health field, Dr. Steele is the right man at the right time to represent the people of Michigan.”
