Congressman Benishek represents Michigan’s 1st District and covers the entire Upper Peninsula and the Northern Lower Peninsula. Dan Benishek was born in Iron River, Michigan. His father worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps and then in the iron mines of Iron County. Dan’s father died in a mining accident in 1957 and Dan’s mother, with the help of family, raised Dan and his brother, Tim.
He graduated from West Iron County High School in 1970. Dan went on to earn a B.S. in Biology from the University of Michigan in 1974 and graduated from Wayne State Medical School in 1978. Dan completed a Family Practice internship in Flint at St Joseph’s Hospital. He completed his General Surgery residency back at Wayne State in Detroit. He has served as a general surgeon in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula in a private practice since 1983. He has worked part-time at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain for the past twenty years. Dan and his wife, Judy, currently live in Crystal Falls. They have five children and two grandchildren.
Dr. Benishek is an avid hunter and fisherman and a proud member of the NRA and the GOA. Prior to being sworn into Congress on January 5, 2011, Dr. Benishek had never sought nor held any previous public office.
Congressman Bill Huizenga

U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga represents the 2nd District of Michigan, which stretches along the beautiful West Coast of Michigan from Fennville to Frankfort. He was elected to his first term in Congress on November 3, 2010.
Huizenga is a proven leader in the drive for efficient government, common sense reform in regulation and lowering taxes. In Congress, he is focused on removing government barriers to private-sector job creation and economic growth, cutting government spending, ensuring transparency, and rebuilding the bonds of trust between the American people and their representatives in Washington.
Selected to serve on the exclusive House Financial Services Committee, Huizenga is the highest-ranking freshman member. The Committee has jurisdiction over all issues pertaining to: the economy, the banking system, housing, insurance, and securities and exchanges, and also oversees monetary policy, international finance, international monetary organizations, and efforts to combat terrorist financing. Huizenga was named to three subcommittees, where he will focus on: Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit; International Monetary Policy and Trade; and Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology.
In 2002, Huizenga felt the call for public service, running and being elected to serve the southern portion of Ottawa County, Michigan’s 90th District, in the Michigan House of Representatives.
Huizenga was born and raised in Zeeland, Michigan, where he currently resides with his wife, Natalie, and their five children.
Congressman Justin Amash

Congressman Amash represents Michigan’s 3rd District, surrounding Grand Rapids and its metropolitan area. Justin serves on the House Budget Committee and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. He was elected to his first term on November 2, 2010.
Justin was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and raised in the city of Kentwood. He received his bachelor’s degree with High Honors in Economics from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School. Justin worked as a business lawyer and a Michigan state representative before his election to Congress.
Justin has been a leader in the incorporation of Facebook and other social media into his work as a public official. He also set new standards for transparency and accountability in the Michigan state House.
In October 2010, TIME Magazine named Justin one of its “40 under 40 – Rising Stars of U.S. Politics.”
Justin lives in Cascade Charter Township with his wife Kara, a graduate of Calvin College and a former elementary school teacher. Justin and Kara have three children, Alexander, Anwen, and Evelyn.
Congressman Dave Camp

Congressman Camp represents Michigan’s 4th District, which spans from Owosso to Greenville and northward to Traverse City and the Leelanau peninsula. Camp is the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, which is one of the oldest and most powerful committees in the U.S. House of Representatives.
As the head of Ways and Means, Camp is one of the most influential policymakers in Washington, DC, helping to set the nation’s economic, health care and social welfare policies. His committee has sole jurisdiction over tax policy and oversees tariff and trade laws, Medicare, Social Security, and welfare and unemployment programs.
Born and raised in Midland, Michigan, where he and his wife and three children reside, Camp’s top priority has always been serving his constituents. Known for personally signing over 40,000 constituent letters each year, in addition to thousands of one-on-one meetings, Camp stays in close touch with his district.
Recognized for “decisive breakthroughs” on significant legislation since his first days in Congress, Camp’s signature issues include making America more competitive by lowering and simplifying tax rates for individuals, families and employers; reforming health care to focus on wellness and prevention; expanding access to quality, affordable health care through tax free savings accounts; protecting the welfare of our nation’s children through family focused foster care and adoption programs; and, promoting the production and use of alternative energy, which is a growing industry in Michigan and the Fourth Congressional District.
Congressman Fred Upton

Congressman Fred Upton represents Michigan’s 6th District, covering southwest Michigan along the Indiana border since 1987. In 2010, Fred was selected by his House colleagues to serve as Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Commerce.
Prior to his election to Congress, Fred worked for President Ronald Reagan in the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). While at OMB, he learned from President Reagan’s example that it does not matter who gets the credit, as long as the job gets done.
Fred has a well-earned reputation for getting things done in Washington and at home in southwest Michigan. He previously served as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Energy and Environment (2007-2010), a critical position as the nation seeks to fortify its energy supply and reduce its dependence on foreign oil. In the 111th Congress, Fred was selected as co-chair of the House Republicans’ American Energy Solutions Group, which is focused on lowering energy prices for American families and small businesses through the development of domestic energy sources. Fred strongly supports an “all of the above” approach with a greater emphasis on domestic exploration, the advancement of breakthrough technologies, and the development of nuclear power. Fred has also been a leading opponent of cap-and-trade legislation and needless EPA regulations that stifle growth, kill jobs, and raise energy costs.
Fred was born on April 23, 1953 and holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Michigan. He and his wife, Amey, have two children.
Congressman Tim Walberg

Congressman Walberg serves as Michigan’s 7th District, covering south central Michigan that stretches from Eaton County to Michigan’s south border of Indiana and Ohio. He is known throughout the 7th District for the commitment to bringing good-paying jobs back to Michigan, restraining government spending, reducing the national deficit and defending traditional values.
Congressman Walberg is a principled, independent conservative dedicated to serving his constituents and willing to work in a bi-partisan manner on legislation that benefits the Seventh District.
Born in Chicago, Congressman Walberg grew up on the city’s south side and worked briefly as a union steel mill worker before attending Western Illinois University, Moody Bible Institute, Taylor University in Fort Wayne, IN (formerly Fort Wayne Bible College) and Wheaton College Graduate School, earning his B.S. and M.A. degrees.
During Tim’s 16 years in the state legislature, he never voted for a tax increase and successfully fought to reduce income taxes, property taxes, capital gains taxes and death taxes. He also compiled a 100 percent pro-life voting record and earned a lifetime A+ rating from the NRA.
Tim and his wife Sue have been married for over 35 years. They live in Tipton, Michigan, where they raised their three now-adult children Matthew, Heidi and Caleb.
Congressman Mike Rogers

Congressman Mike Rogers represents Michigan’s 8th District, covering a section of mid-Michigan that stretches from Lansing through Oakland County. Mike consistently reaches out to assist citizens in dealing with federal agencies on issues related to Social Security, veterans care, education, IRS, health care, and many others.
Mike’s leadership skills are acknowledged by House leaders in his appointment to serve on two major committees, the powerful Energy and Commerce panel and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
Mike was appointed to the Intelligence Committee for his experience and personal interest in national security. The panel oversees the intelligence community, including operations and budgetary oversight, and is the primary panel responsible for overseeing implementation of the intelligence community restructuring.
On the Energy and Commerce Committee, Mike’s two subcommittee assignments include: Health, and Communications, Technology and the Internet. Energy and Commerce is the oldest standing committee in the U.S. House of Representatives.
A 1985 graduate of Adrian College in Michigan, Mike earned his reputation as a leader, problem solver and “people person” during service as a U.S. Army officer/company commander (1985-88), FBI Special Agent investigating public corruption as a member of the Chicago Bureau’s organized crime unit (1988-94), and in the Michigan Senate (1995-2000) where he served as Senate Majority Floor Leader (1999-2000).
Mike is married. He has two children, a daughter and a son.
Congresswoman Candice Miller

Congresswoman Candice Miller represents Michigan’s 10th District, running along the eastern edge of the ‘Thumb’ to the northern edge of Macomb County. She is currently serving her fifth term after first being elected to office in November 2002. She proudly sits on two committees: the House Committee on Homeland Security and House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
Prior to her election to Congress, Congresswoman Miller served two terms as Michigan’s Secretary of State from 1994 until 2002. “Customer service” stood as the operative phrase of her administration. During her first term, she visited every branch office in the state to get a firsthand look at the operations on the front lines. Those visits became the impetus for wholesale changes to modernize and redesign branch offices and streamline transactions for millions of Michigan drivers.
As Secretary of State, Congresswoman Miller became a national leader in election reform, using technology to enhance Michigan’s qualified voter file. She was recognized by the Ford-Carter Commission on National Election Reform as a national model for states developing similar programs.
Congresswoman Miller is a lifelong resident of Macomb County. Before being elected to her first position in public office, she worked for her family’s marina business on the Clinton River.
She and her husband, Retired Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Donald Miller, continue to reside in Harrison Township. They have one daughter.
Congressman Thaddeus McCotter

Congressman Thaddeus McCotter represents Michigan’s 11h District, covering Western Oakland and Western Wayne Counties in Southeast Michigan. He was first elected to Congress in 2002.
Congressman McCotter has focused his efforts on preserving and promoting manufacturing and small businesses, because he knows they form the back bone of our community’s economy. He has steadfastly supported winning the War for Freedom and increasing our homeland security; tirelessly fought to reduce taxes and the size and scope of government; and, most importantly, Congressman McCotter has dedicated every effort to listen to and serve his constituents.
Congressman McCotter was elected by his colleagues in Nov. 2006 to serve as Chairman of the Republican House Policy Committee, a leadership position once held by Vice President Dick Cheney.
Congressman McCotter is also a member of the House Financial Services Committee, where he serves on the Capital Markets, Insurance, and Government Sponsored Enterprises and the Housing and Community Opportunity subcommittees..
Congressman McCotter is a graduate of Catholic Central High School; the University of Detroit; and the University of Detroit Law School. He is a bar admitted attorney by profession. Thaddeus and Rita McCotter, a registered nurse, have three young children, George, Timothy, and Emilia. The McCotter family lives in his home town of Livonia. Congressman McCotter travels to and from our nation’s capital every week to serve our community.
