Michigan Republican Party Denounces MSU Professor’s Anti-Republican Tirade, Calls for Resignation
September 4, 2013
LANSING, Mich., September 4, 2013 –New video footage from a Michigan State University student is gaining national attention after he captured creative writing professor William Penn on an anti-Republican tirade during class.
“This is exactly why we are engaging students on college campuses across the state; young conservatives should not feel isolated or outcast simply because they are Republicans,” Michigan Republican Party Chairman Bobby Schostak said about the incident. “This is a public institution, funded by taxpayers, and this type of bullying is inexcusable.
“I am calling on Gary Peters, Mark Schauer, Gretchen Whitmer, Tim Greimel and all Democrat officials to join in condemning this disgraceful behavior by calling for Penn’s resignation. By bringing his personal views into the classroom, Penn has directly isolated and threatened young Republicans into silence. His use of political intimidation is shameful and should not be tolerated.
“We encourage other students who have had similar experiences to come forward and speak out against this type of bullying.”
