LANSING, Mich., Oct. 28, 2014 – Democrat Mark Schauer does not enroll his own campaign staff in Obamacare, yet he forced hundreds of thousands of Michiganders to accept Obamacare. Schauer enrolled his campaign staff in non-Obamacare health plans demonstrating his lack of confidence in Obamacare. The gubernatorial candidate, who constantly reminds fellow Democrats it was “the right thing to do” is looking rather hypocritical these days, as his gubernatorial campaign staff are currently signed up for plans through the Small Business Association of Michigan – which skips the Obamacare exchange he so adamantly “supports.”

“Mark Schauer failed to enroll his campaign staff in Obamacare even though he was eligible to do so,” said Michigan Republican Party Chairman Bobby Schostak. “Schauer forced hundreds of thousands of Michiganders to accept the limitations of Obamacare, but refused to bind himself and his staff to those same limitations. It speaks volumes of Mark Schauer’s hypocrisy – considering he voted for Obamacare and publicly advocates for it on a daily basis – that he wouldn’t have his own staff participate. At least 225,000 people in this state lost their health care because of Mark Schauer’s vote. Mark Schauer wants to make your health care decisions, but refuses to bind himself and his staff to those same rules.”
