In the first Presidential debate, Joe Biden was caught repeatedly lying about President Trump’s record, as well as his own record.
LANSING, Mich., September 30, 2020 — Joe Biden has been determined to show America that he is mentally fit for office after months of gaffes and indicators of cognitive decline. In last night's debate, Biden failed to do so with a weak debate performance riddled with lies about his track record and that of President Trump. These are a handful of them:
Lie: Biden claims we should never confirm a Supreme Court nominee in an election year.
Fact: In 2016 Joe Biden said: “I made it absolutely clear that I would go forward with a confirmation process as chairman, even a few months before a presidential election…”
Lie: Biden claims President Trump has no plan for America’s Health Care.
Fact: President Trump’s “America First Healthcare Plan” increases choice, lowers costs for American families and seniors, provides better care, and protects people with preexisting conditions.
Lie: Biden claims he would not destroy private health insurance.
Fact: Biden’s plan would funnel millions of Americans away from private insurance and into his government-run health care system.
Lie: Biden claims he would have done a better job handling the COVID-19 crisis than President Trump.
Fact: Biden criticized President Trump for his China travel restrictions in January, which saved countless lives, before he embraced the travel ban in early April, more than two months after President Trump announced it.
Lie: Biden claimed you could not trust a vaccine backed by the Trump Administration.
Fact: Last week, Dr. Anthony Fauci testified on the vaccine’s safety saying, “there’s no cutting corners” from the Trump administration on vaccine development.
