Cox: Hoadley Vote Makes Communities Less Safe

The following statement is from Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox, regarding State Representative and Congressional candidate Jon Hoadley’s “no” vote on H.R. 277. The resolution urges local governments throughout Michigan to not “defund the police.”

“While leaders like Congressman Fred Upton are fighting for commonsense reforms that will improve community policing and end police brutality, Jon Hoadley has sided with the most extreme elements of the Democrat party. Americans deserve meaningful reforms that address real issues with law enforcement, not blanket calls to ‘defund the police’. Not only is Hoadley pandering to the progressives, he’s voting to make our communities less safe and vilify our brave law enforcement officers.”
