LANSING, Mich., December 10, 2020 – The following statement is from Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox, regarding autism advocate Xavier DeGroat completing his White House internship.
“At a time when Democrats and Republicans struggle to find areas of agreement, I am proud to say that Xavier DeGroat and the completion of his internship at the White House is something we can all celebrate. Xavier is an exceptional young man who also happens to be autistic, making him the first autistic White House interns in history. Xavier has led an incredible life thus far, through his foundation he has advocated for autistic people, breaking down barriers and pioneering new opportunities. I am incredibly proud of his work and accomplishments, and I hope leaders on both sides of the aisle will join me in congratulating Xavier on his successful internship at the White House.”
