Cox Statement on COVID Contract Late Night Name Release

The Michigan Republican Party released the following statement on behalf of Chairman Laura Cox regarding the Whitmer administration's late night release of the names of four employees it says were responsible for hiring two partisan Democrat firms to handle vital COVID-19 contact tracing calls. The disclosure comes after calls from the Michigan Republican Party and Republicans in the State Legislators to disclose all emails regarding the hiring of EveryAction VAN and Great Lakes Community Engagement. Currently, the governor is refusing to fulfill that request.

“Governor Whitmer's release of these names in the middle of the night shows just how desperate she is to cover this up. The governor said that the decision to hire these deeply partisan firms was not political, however, we now know that members of the selection process worked in the Obama Biden White House. It’s now clearer than ever that Michiganders will not know the truth until Whitmer releases all emails sent regarding these contracts.”
