Democrats want to take money out of your pocket

Happy Tax Day! Today marks the last time you have to file under this horrible and antiquated system! Since the passing of the GOP Tax Bill in December, people all over Michigan have already seen astronomical rewards.

The Democrats, however, plan to repeal the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Doing so would only take money out of middle-class family's pockets. Hard-working families should be able to determine how they spend their money, not the government. Through the passing of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and numerous other pro-growth policies, Republicans are offering results, not resistance.

Democrats want to take away YOUR money:

Shri Thanedar, a Democrat candidate for Michigan Governor, called the GOP Tax Plan a “scam,” yet Michigan based companies such as Mill Steel Company, Fiat Chrysler, Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber Engineering, Consumers Energy and more have given their employees thousands of dollars in bonuses and increased pay.

Senator Debbie Stabenow told her constituents that the GOP Tax Plan “…will hurt MI families by raising taxes on the middle class…” This claim is patently false. The Tax Cut and Jobs Act was designed for the middle class. It not only lowers taxes, but it has doubled the standard deduction, raised the child tax credit, and has stimulated several bonuses and pay raises for hard working Michigan families.

Elissa Slotkin, candidate for U.S. House district 8, stated that the GOP Tax Plan only “…offers massive tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans and corporations…” Yet according to the U.S. Treasury, 90% of wage earners have a higher take-home pay.
Gretchen Whitmer, candidate for Michigan Governor, stated that “The real measure of our economy is how people are getting by…” She's right. Thanks to Republican-backed Tax Reform, Michiganders are seeing more money for consumers, strong monthly job growth, rising wages, booming consumer confidence, and more people working than ever before.
