Student leaders from Grosse Pointe high schools will share their firsthand experiences standing for conservative ideas and promoting the sanctity of life on Tuesday, April 16, at the War Memorial.
Sponsored by the Eastside Republican Club, the student panel is scheduled from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
Participating students are active in leading local school chapters of Students for Life, Young Americans for Freedom (YAF), and Turning Point USA.
“We have assembled a stellar panel of young men and women who are standing up for conservative American values. We will hear of the positive impact they are making and the challenges they face,” club chairman Dave Schumacher said in a statement.
“In addition to being inspired by their courage and conviction, I’m sure we will get some insight into today’s tolerance for viewpoint diversity and learn ways we can support them.”
“This panel is especially timely coming so soon after President Trump’s March 21 Executive Order to promote freedom of speech at colleges and universities,” added Schumacher.
Doors open at 7 p.m. for coffee and networking in advance of the meeting.
The Eastside Republican Club Forum is normally held on the third Tuesday of the month from September through May. Admission is free and the public is always welcome. Stay up-to-date and "like" the ERC on Facebook.
