Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference Welcomes Sarah Huckabee Sanders as Keynote
LANSING, Mich., September 16, 2019 – The Michigan Republican Party announced today that former White House Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders will speak at the 33rd Biennial Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference on September 20th – 22nd. The event, hosted at the historic Grand Hotel, brings together conservative leaders from across America to discuss solutions to critical issues facing our state and nation.
“Sarah is one of the leading voices in today’s conservative movement and it is a tremendous honor that she will be attending this year’s Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference.” said Laura Cox, Michigan Republican Party Chairman. Cox continued, “Michiganders love a fighter, and no one has fought harder to defend our president than Sarah. She served our country with honor, integrity and dedication. Our party is incredibly excited to hear her speak.”
Sarah Huckabee Sanders served as White House Press Secretary for President Donald J. Trump from 2017 to 2019. A trusted confidante of the President, Sanders advised him on everything from press and communications strategy to personnel and policy. Sanders is only the third woman – and the very first mom – to ever hold the job of White House Press Secretary.
Sanders joined the Trump campaign as a senior advisor in February 2016 during the Republican primary, and continued in that role through the President’s defeat of Hillary Clinton, one of the greatest and most unexpected victories in American history.
Sanders has previously worked in leadership roles for U.S. Senators, Governors, and presidential campaigns. She was a senior advisor to the successful campaigns of Senator Tom Cotton and Senator John Boozman. In 2008, Sanders helped lead former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee to victory in the Iowa Caucuses and seven other states as his National Political Director.
Sanders has been recognized in TIME Magazine’s “40 under 40” as one of the best political operatives of her generation. She is a Fox News contributor, and advises major companies and non-profits.
