ICYMI – Peters Lied About Taking Exclusive Health Care Insurance

Peters is skipping debates to avoid scrutiny of his record but even in yesterday’s format of separate appearances, Peters simply could not defend his record     LANSING, Mich., October 19, 2020 – In case you missed it, The Detroit News reported last night that Gary Peters told the newspaper in 2013 that Peters had signed up for a standard Obamacare plan like his constituents, when in truth he was secretly taking exclusive, gold-plated health insurance provided by Michigan taxpayers for a handful of former elected officials.   “Peters' staff told The Detroit News in 2013 that he signed up for a health plan through the federal exchange in 2013.”   2013 was also the year that Peters amended his congressional financial disclosures from 2008-2012 to admit that he was taking a non-ACA exchange benefits plan— yet another way in which he withheld the truth from voters.    Peters’ exclusive health insurance plan, which he still uses today, is not only far better than a standard Obamacare exchange plan, but is also totally unavailable to the Michigan residents Peters serves in Congress.   Business leader John James, on the other hand, not only knows the difficulties of providing employee health insurance but uses the same health insurance as those who work at his company.   In the story covering separate appearances by Peters and John James on WDIV’s Flashpoint, Peters talked about the issue of him not using an ACA exchange plan and instead using the exclusive state plan not open to Michigan families. ... Cox Statement On Whitmer's "Meet the Press” Appearance

LANSING, Mich., October 18, 2020 – The following statement is from Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox, regarding Governor Whitmer’s comments on “Meet the Press” this morning, accusing President Trump of inciting “domestic terrorism”.   “Governor Whitmer is having a historically bad week, so she is resorting to partisan games. After the embarrassment of having her orders deemed unconstitutional by the Michigan Supreme Court, she then had to witness thousands of Michiganders rally around the President in Muskegon. Whitmer’s attempts to deflect from her failures on COVID-19 and as Joe Biden’s national co-chair are becoming increasingly desperate.” More >

Biden Signals Support For Court Packing

18 days before the election, Joe Biden signaled his support for packing the Supreme Court in a townhall on ABC   LANSING, Mich., October 16, 2020 – As Judge Amy Coney Barrett finished her impressive confirmation hearings this week, Joe Biden expressed his support for a radical left agenda with regard to the nation’s highest court.   In a townhall on ABC, Joe Biden signaled his support for packing the Supreme Court after the confirmation of Judge Barrett, saying he was “open” to the idea.   “Joe Biden confirmed our worst fears last night, he is a Trojan Horse for the radical left and signaled that he will pack our Supreme Court, upending 150 years of precedent, if he is elected.” said Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox. Cox continued, “President Trump will protect our courts when he is re-elected and do what Joe Biden cannot… stand up to the radical left.”   Last night’s revelation comes as a backtrack for Biden, who last week said he wasn’t “a fan” of packing the court. Hey, Gary: Please Explain Why You Lied To Michigan Workers About The China Accountability Committee

Peters said he’d protect Michigan workers by serving on China committee, but he didn’t do the work   LANSING, Mich., October 16, 2020 –  Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox called on Gary Peters to explain why he lied to Michigan workers when he said he’d stand up for them on the China accountability committee but then did not show up to do the work that other Senators did. “Gary Peters said in 2015 that he was ‘honored’ to serve on the China accountability committee because it was important to protect Michigan workers,” said Cox. “But Gary didn’t do the work. In fact, he did not even show up for work. It’s time for Peters to explain why he lied to Michigan workers about China.” Peters has been dodging questions about why he had skipped 16 of 18 meetings of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China since 2015, avoiding the hard work that is done in the committee process while accepting the title of commission member.  Peters has been avoiding answers for months, going back to at least June when WXYZ-TV asked and Peters refused to explain himself.  On at least one day when Peters was too busy to attend the China hearings, he did find the time to hold a major campaign fundraiser at a Washington, D.C. restaurant described in online reviews as “exclusive and intimate”, and “a super sexy discreet stop.” When he was appointed to the Congressional Executive Commission on China in 2015, Peters promised Michigan workers that... ICYMI: Big Tech Interferes With Presidential Election

Twitter and Facebook both suppressed a New York Post article that was damaging to Joe Biden, causing Senate Republicans to demand an explanation   LANSING, Mich., October 15, 2020 – In case you missed it, Twitter and Facebook both suppressed a New York Post article that was potentially damaging to Joe Biden, causing Senate Republicans to demand an explanation for this interference.   Senator Ted Cruz called the move by Twitter to censor this article “hypocritical” and “an obvious and transparent attempt by Twitter to influence the upcoming Presidential election.”.   Meanwhile, a Facebook Communications employee, Andy Stone, stated that the platform would be “reducing distribution” of the article. This raised red flags, considering this employee’s past work history with Democrat Senator Barbara Boxer, the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), and the Democrat House Majority PAC.   “The attempts by Twitter and Facebook to suppress a potentially damaging article to Joe Biden smacks of an attempt to interfere with the upcoming Presidential election.” said Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox. Cox continued, “Twitter and Facebook should reverse course, and we must begin to have an honest conversation about Big Tech influencing our elections to try and get Democrats elected.” More >

Democrats Sink to New Low in SCOTUS Hearing

Senate Democrats asked inappropriate and demeaning questions at yesterday’s hearings, attempting to distract from Judge Barrett’s immense qualifications   LANSING, Mich., October 14, 2020 — Democrats have spent the days leading up to the SCOTUS hearings unsuccessfully trying to discredit Judge Amy Coney Barrett, and those desperate efforts were on full display in yesterday’s hearings.   Senator Corey Booker condescendingly asked Judge Barrett, a mother of two black children, if she condemned white supremacy, to which she of course answered yes. In the same hearing, Senator Mazie Hirono demeaningly asked Judge Barrett if she had sexually assaulted anyone, to which she answered unequivocally, no.   “The insulting questions that the Senate Democrats asked Judge Barrett shows how little respect they have not just for Judge Barrett, but the confirmation process as a whole.” said Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox. Cox continued, “Judge Barrett has shown her immense qualifications and her patience during these hearings, and there is no doubt that she should sit on the Supreme Court of the United States.” More >

Under the leadership of President Trump and Vice President Pence, Michigan has experienced record low unemployment, much needed tax relief, and a trade deal that levels the playing field for Michigan workers. Now, our economy is experiencing a V-shaped recovery from COVID-19 and the Great American Comeback has begun. Michiganders are grateful for the Vice President’s continued efforts on our behalf, and we will show our support for him at today’s event!” More >

Peters Supports Plan To Flood His Campaign And Wallet With Healthy Doses Of Drug Company Cash

The Peters Plan to benefit himself is the most successful thing he’s done in Congress   LANSING, Mich., October 14, 2020 – U.S. Senator Gary Peters talks a lot about the American health care system but a look at U.S. Senate and Federal Election Commission data shows his plan for flooding his campaigns and wallet with healthy doses of drug company cash is one of the most successful things he’s ever done.   The Peters Plan for soliciting and accepting thousands of dollars from pharmaceutical companies, while claiming on television that he is fighting them, has been very effective.   Peters’ various political committees have taken a whopping $194,000 from drug company corporate and employee PACs since he entered Congress.    The Peters Plan has also helped create a healthy bottom line for Peters’ personal wealth.   Peters doubled his personal wealth while in Washington, D.C., and he did it in part with his plan to bet big on drug companies profiting off patients.   Peters reports thousands of dollars in personal income as a result of his holdings in major drug companies, per financial disclosures in Congress:    Abbott Laboratories: Between $2,012 and $10,600 AbbVie: Between $2,609 and $10,500 Bristol-Myers Squibb: Between $2,412 and $12,000 Merck: Between $2,412 and $12,000  Pfizer: Between $2,412 and $12,000 Teva Pharmaceuticals: Between $1,001 and $5,000   “Gary Peters has not been successful at much in Washington. But with The Peters Plan, Gary got ahead with the help of drug companies and generated healthy... More >
