Slotkin and Stevens Cave to Radical Extremist Demands LANSING, Mich., September 24, 2019 – The following statement is from Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox regarding today’s announcement by Democrat Representatives Elissa Slotkin (MI-08) and Haley Stevens (MI-11) that they plan to back impeachment inquiries into President Trump. The President carried both districts in 2016.  "Today, Elissa Slotkin and Haley Stevens decided to join with Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the most radical members of their party by jumping on the impeachment bandwagon. For nearly three years, Democrats and their allies in the media have conducted a witch-hunt against President Trump in an attempt to undo the results of the 2016 election. Time and time again their accusations have been proven false, and I find it shameful that Slotkin and Stevens have chosen to put their political ambitions ahead of the real issues facing their constituents." LANSING, Mich., September 12, 2019 – The following statement is from Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox regarding Governor Whitmer’s decision to walk away from state budget negotiations.   “Yet again Governor Whitmer has shown that it’s her way or no highways. Republicans have proposed a budget which will add millions in new road funding without raising taxes. However, Gas Tax Gretchen is refusing to sign a budget that spends ANY money on roads because it means she won’t get her ridiculous highest in the nation 45-cent gas tax increase. Clearly Whitmer cares more about taking Michiganders hard-earned money than she does fixing a single mile of our states ‘damn roads’.”  More >

Cox Targeted Again by Radical VandalSecond Attack on MIGOP Headquarters in Days Names Chairman LANSING, Mich., June 25th, 2019 – Late Monday night, the Michigan Republican Party, its Chairman Laura Cox and the ideal of free speech was again attacked by those who wish to silence American voices through intimidation. Radical and intolerant liberals once again defaced the Republican Party’s headquarters in Lansing for the second time in 3 days. The graffiti included threats such as “F**k Cox”, and “F**K ICE” (Cox was a former agent).  “Like children who don’t get their way, these criminals seek to bully those they disagree with, rather than engage in a civil discussion” said Laura Cox, Michigan Republican Party Chairman. Cox continued, “These radical thugs choose to intimidate through graffiti and anonymous nighttime attacks, rather than contest their ideas in the press, in the public square and in the polling places. We will continue to fight for our beliefs, and for our President who is attacked for defending our nation’s right to secure its borders. In the face of these cowardly acts, I know the citizens of Michigan will defend the right to free speech, and defend those men and women who protect us along the borders of our Great Nation like my former colleagues in ICE.” Photos of the graffiti are included below.  More >

Slotkin and Stevens must Stand up for Michigan LANSING, Mich., June 17, 2019 – The following statement is from Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox regarding Congresswomen Haley Stevens and Elissa Slotkin’s inaction on US-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade agreement. USMCA, which was negotiated by President Trump as a replacement for NAFTA, would add an estimated $34 billion in new Automotive investment to the U.S. economy. Much of which would be invested in Michigan. It’s also estimated that USMCA would add an additional $23 billion spent annually on American made auto parts and 76,000 new automotive jobs. “Michiganders put the world on wheels but with 76,000 new automotive jobs on the line, Michigan Congresswomen Haley Stevens and Elissa Slotkin seem to be stuck in neutral. The US-Mexico-Canada trade agreement will rejuvenate the American Auto industry and bring jobs back to Michigan. It’s time for Slotkin and Stevens to stop hiding behind Nancy Pelosi and stand with Michigan workers. They must demand a vote on USMCA.”         More >

Slotkin admits she is more Liberal than AOC LANSING, Mich., June 9, 2019 – On Friday, in an interview published by the Progressive blog The Michigan Advance, Freshman Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin boasted that her voting record is actually more liberal than that of Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. To back up the admission, The Advance pointed to statistics gathered by FiveThirtyEight showing that Ocasio-Cortez has voted with President Trump 10.3% of the time. Elissa Slotkin, a self-proclaimed moderate, has never voted with the president scoring an alarming 0.0%. She takes this extreme position despite the fact that Slotkin’s constituents voted overwhelmingly for Trump in 2016. In the days following the publication of the interview, either The Michigan Advance or Congresswoman Slotkin got cold feet about the admission. Early Monday morning, The Advance removed admission and all accompanying statistics. The explanation was that the story had been updated to “clarify Slotkin’s voting record”, but the use of statistics in the original post did just that. This begs the question, did Congresswoman Slotkin pressure the left-wing blog to change their post because the truth threatens her carefully cultivated moderate image? When asked for comment, Michigan Republican Party Chairwoman Laura Cox stated the following; “This is yet another example of Elissa Slotkin lying about who she really is. First, she lied about where she lived. Then, she lied about standing up to Pelosi. Now,she admits she has been lying about being a moderate. If there has been one consistency with Shady Slotkin, it’s her consistent trouble with the truth”. The following are screenshots of... More >
