LANSING, Mich., December 11, 2019 – On Tuesday, Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats announced that they will pursue two articles of impeachment against President Donald J. Trump. In a sign of how far the Democrat party has moved to the radical left, support for the hyper-partisan impeachment process has become the latest litmus test for Democrats, despite its unpopularity with Michigan voters. This move is to appease the radical liberal wing of the party, which has been calling for the president’s impeachment since his first year in office, and includes State Representative Jon Hoadley - who is currently running for Congress in Michigan's 6th Congressional District.
Hoadley, who has been endorsed by top progressives including Planned Parenthood and former gubernatorial candidate Abdul El-Sayed, made his first public comments in support of impeachment in a 2017 tweet. A full two years before the impeachment inquiry began.
"Jon Hoadley is nothing more than a radical democrat mouthpiece. I have no doubt in my mind that the constituents of Michigan's 6th Congressional District will reject this outlandish, hyper-partisan agenda.", said Laura Cox, Michigan Republican Party Chairman. Cox went on to say, "Representative Upton has worked tirelessly on behalf of Southwest Michigan, and we look forward to having his leadership in Washington another 2 years."
