LANSING, Mich., March 24, 2020 – This weekend, during the GOP’s National Day of Action, the Michigan Republican Party (MIGOP) surpassed 1 million voter contacts. MIGOP’s millionth contact is four months ahead of the record-setting pace the party set in 2018 when 1 million voters were reached by late July.
The Michigan Republican Party’s comprehensive ground game reaches extensively across Michigan. Not only has MIGOP contacted over 1 million voters, we have also activated and trained thousands of volunteers across the state as we continually grow our grassroots army.
During the coronavirus pandemic, the Michigan Republican Party has shifted entirely to digital and virtual efforts to ensure the health and well-being of staff, grassroots leaders, volunteers and voters. This weekend’s efforts focused around conducting trainings in a virtual setting and helping set up volunteers with call-from-home technology.
“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to our volunteers for their dedication to our party in light of the ongoing circumstances. Michiganders know that they are far better off today, than they were 4 years ago – and it’s motivating them to get out and support our President.” said Laura Cox, Michigan Republican Party Chairman. Cox continued, “We will continue full-steam ahead in mobilizing voters for President Trump and Republicans up and down the ticket, thanks to the unprecedented groundwork we’ve laid in the past year.”
