LANSING, Mich., March 2, 2017 – Michigan Republican Party Chairman Ron Weiser announced today the hiring of Colleen Pero as the Chief of Staff for the Michigan Republican Party.
“Colleen will be an invaluable asset to the Michigan Republican Party and will help lead our team to victory in 2018,” Chairman Weiser said. “Colleen’s political, government, and campaign experience coupled with her commitment to our Party make her an exceptional choice to lead our team.”
Pero has worked on a variety of campaigns including serving as the National Deputy Political Director for Lamar Alexander for President, Executive Director for Michigan Bush/Quayle campaign, the American Justice Partnership, senior positions under former Governor John Engler and in the Michigan Senate, and is the former Chair of State Board of Canvassers.
Pero began her political work with the House Republican Campaign Committee and has volunteered for the Republican Party in Texas, Tennessee, Florida and in Michigan.

Pero most recently served as Deputy Director of the Michigan Department of Civil Rights. Pero is also an attorney, having served as the General Counsel to the Lamar Alexander for President Campaign, as well an attorney for Dickinson, Wright in Lansing, and Winstead McGuire, Sechrest & Minick in Houston.
