Last week, the SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) ran out of funds – leaving thousands of businesses to miss paydays, and face struggling employees and potential solvency. Democrats previously shut down a unanimous consent vote, the leading reason why the fund was not replenished.
On Friday, Michigan’s Democrat Congressional Delegation, including Senator Gary Peters, sent a letter to SBA Administrator Jovita Carranza for the lack of funds directed towards Michigan – despite shooting down additional funding just days earlier.
“Michiganders need results in Washington, not lip service,” said Laura Cox, Michigan Republican Party Chairman. Cox stated, “When Michiganders needed this aid the most, Gary Peters voted ‘no’ and now the people of our state our suffering. Peters is nothing more than a Washington insider that lives to play politics. We need a Senator who puts Michigan first, not the Democrat party.”
