Only 1.9% of Gary Peters’ bills become law as he holds yet another press conference today seeking to distract from record of failure
Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox said in advance of today’s Gary Peters press conference, that Peters likes press conferences because they distract from his inability to pass legislation and bad habit of skipping committee work that could have strengthened Michigan’s manufacturing base.
Peters has been unsuccessful in creating effective bi-partisan working relationships in Congress, with only 1.9% of his bills passed into law.
Worse yet, when it came time to protect Michigan manufacturing and jobs, Peters didn’t bother to show up. Peters skipped 89% of China accountability hearings and 84% of Small Business Committee hearings.
“Every time Michigan has needed Gary Peters to be a leader, he’s been MIA. Peters likes press conferences but abandoned Michigan manufacturing when it was time to roll up his sleeves in committee and he can’t get legislation passed. Michigan’s manufacturers and workers continue to suffer the consequences,” Cox said.
