Gary Peters, feeling the heat, literally refuses to say John James’ name on a Lansing radio interview today
LANSING, Mich., September 3, 2020 – Tensions are getting high in Michigan’s U.S. Senate race.
Gary Peters, feeling the heat this week as he continues hijacking a federally-created, taxpayer-funded motorcycle tour for his struggling reelection campaign, is now refusing to say John James’ name.
During an interview today, WILS Morning Wake Up Host Dave Akerly noted that Peters wasn’t saying James’ name and asked him why.
After a contrived laugh acknowledging the awkwardness of his choice to avoid saying James’ name, Peters still refused to say it!
You keep saying “my opponent”.
Are you avoiding saying John James’ name?
You keep saying “my opponent” but.
I mean, you don’t have a problem with just saying his name?
Or is that part of the campaign? I’m asking!
(Uncomfortable, fake laughter)
No. That’s fine.
Alright, he’s not going to say it. Alright.
Michigan Republican Party Chair Laura Cox said that if Peters is already stressing out on September 3rd, he better buckle up for November 3rd.
“John James has served his country in combat and leads a business that provides health care and paychecks for Michigan families. He deserves Gary Peters’ respect. Either way, it sounds like it will be even harder for Peters when he has to say Senator John James next year.”
