Only 1.9% of Gary Peters’ bills become law as he yet again vows false support of Michigan Small Businesses
Today, Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox pointed to Gary Peters’ ineffective track record for Michigan, despite personally enriching himself during his time as a U.S. Senator.
When Michigan small businesses needed support in Washington, Peters didn’t bother to show up, skipping 84% of Small Business Committee hearings and 89% of China accountability hearings. Additionally, Peters has been unsuccessful in creating effective bipartisan working relationships in Congress, with only 1.9% of his bills passed into law.
While Peters has been wildly ineffective in Congress, records revealed that Peters has profited handsomely while in Washington, D.C., taking good care of himself despite failing to show up to work.
“Gary Peters can try and give Michiganders all the election year lip service he wants, but the truth of the matter is that he doesn’t even show up to work,” said Cox. “While Michiganders are working hard to pay their bills and make ends meet, Peters is personally enriching himself with taxpayer dollars. November cannot come fast enough so that our state can have new leadership in the U.S. Senate.”
