First, please do the most basic level of research on your mailing list. Any Google search will reveal that I am a consistent Democrat voter.
Second, the Green New Deal is not a “radical” idea. In fact, it is the only way to ensure a future for all of the children you “fight to save” under the argument of “Pro-life.”

I am not a psychologist. As I have said before. I will say that a discussion of who most obviously fits the description of “antisocial personality disorder” – as described by the professionals at the Mayo Clinic – would be, for me, the equivalent of arguing whether the earth is flat.
I will, however, take the trouble of touching on immigration.
“Perhaps they should move to the country in which they feel the most sympathetic.”
Should that have included Charles Krauthammer? Should he have moved back to Canada, where he grew up (and obtained his undergraduate degree)…or to the birth lands of his parents…to the Ukraine…or Belgium?
(I get it, I think…that with your remark about people who should move, you are suggesting Americans sympathetic to (the plight of) illegals should move to where the illegals came from.)
A few thoughts about immigrants. And “Americans.” (True, I am leaving people arriving illegally out of this conversation. Except to note that the record seems clear that (illegal) visa overstays significantly outnumber – perhaps by above 50% or more – (illegal) border crossings.)
Let’s talk about “Americans” a little.
Donald Trump is the grandson of a man listed in 1885 immigration records as Friedr. Trumpf. Trump’s his mother was a native of a very small and very poor community in Scotland. (A shithole, per Trump’s terminology, not mine.)
Rafael Edward Cruz was born in Canada, per his birth certificate. (His mother was born in America, making him a natural born American citizen.*) The United States granted Senator Cruz’s father, Rafael Bienvenido Cruz y Díaz asylum in 1961. However, Mr. Cruz Sr. later moved to Canada (again, where the Senator was born), and obtained Canadian citizenship in 1973, which he renounced only in 2005, becoming a naturalized American. I have not even mentioned Senator’s Cruz’s mother’s name somehow appearing on a list of Canadians eligible to vote. (No, I do not say the son is the parents.)
(*And as for the “birther” business (hysteria), I note that the claim that Barack Obama was not born in the U.S. is
given that a birth announcement appeared in a local Honolulu paper on August. 14, 1961, ten days after his birth, with the name of the father (Mr. and Mrs., it said) and the local address of the family. Besides the fact that the truth of the

I mention all this to highlight how complicated immigration and citizenship can sometimes be. That “complicatedness” is only one of many reasons – and a minor one, I should add – that I have so little sympathy for the stress about “the other” that some people have.
Due to widespread nativist sentiment the doors of America were closed to many, many, many Jews fleeing persecution. In the spring of 1939 the St. Louis, carrying nearly a thousand souls, was turned away from our shores. Historians estimate that about a quarter of its passengers later died in death camps. (I myself am gentile, with no Jewish connection by marriage or even by close friendship.)
George Washington wrote, “May the children of the stock of Abraham who dwell in this land continue to merit and enjoy the good will of the other inhabitants—while every one shall sit in safety under his own vine and fig tree and there shall be none to make him afraid.”
To my mind, it is not a far step, by your logic, to denounce George Washington, to say he should have had no place in America. When the truth is, to my mind, it is the “nativists” who are at odds with “American” values. (And it is no accident, no accident at all, that in the slipstream of Trump’s raging against illegal immigrants has come an increase in anti-Semitic attacks.)
Charles Krauthammer again. A conservative, again. But also an immigrant. “A candidacy that started out as a joke, as a self-aggrandizing exercise in xenophobia, struck a chord in a certain constituency and took off.”

By the way, personality disorder includes the patient taking on the personality, habits, language of someone they look up to. During the course of their lifetime, they may take on the personality of dozens of individuals. They easily manipulate psychiatrists, psychologists and other medical professionals to make them believe that they are okay and actually get them to side with them. They are the one psychiatric disorder that most professionals hate to deal with.

To use North Carolina as just one example, a few years ago Republicans sought information from election boards on voting patterns. Then they wrote a voter i.d. law, based on the information they had gathered on voting patterns, which would suppress the votes of black and/or poor people. Parts of that law were thrown out by a court. What Republicans had done and why was abundantly clear. I am not sure what the state of play is now.
This from the Brennan Center for Justice – via a column by Charles Blow – “After the 2010 election, state lawmakers nationwide started introducing hundreds of harsh measures making it harder to vote.” and “Overall, 25 states have put in place new restrictions since then — 15 states have more restrictive voter ID laws in place (including six states with strict photo ID requirements), 12 have laws making it harder for citizens to register (and stay registered), 10 made it more difficult to vote early or absentee, and three took action to make it harder to restore voting rights for people with past criminal convictions.”
You can talk all you want about a concern for the “integrity” of elections. Honestly, it is a little beyond me how you do not stumble on the word “integrity.” It is a little beyond me how smoothly it trips off your tongue. Maybe you practiced. (Like Tilda Swinton’s character in “Michael Clayton.”)
The lies out of the mouths of Republicans would take me hours, days, perhaps weeks, to address. I really do not have the energy to address them all.
So I am going to offer – throw in your face, to put in bluntly – just one quote. One quote. And then I will make a comment. The quote is from Donald Trump, from June 15, 2018. Trump was strolling down the White House drive, chatting to reporters. On camera Trump said, referring to Kim Jong-un (who is, without question, one of the vilest dictators on the face of the earth), “He’s the head of a country. And, I mean, he is the strong head. Don’t let anyone think anything different. He speaks and his people sit up at attention. I want my people to do the same.” Oh, I know, I know, I know what a Republican would say, “Oh, that was Trump trying some flattery (on Kim Jong-un).” Anybody who swallows that, I hear there is a bridge for sale. Because, see, everything –
– about Trump confirms that in that moment he spoke his true desire.
You can play the “Mini-Me” to a wannabe strongman all you want. By “strongman” I mean a lawless man, a man who wants to be the law in this land. (I am not a professional. But I have to confess that I believe, sincerely, Donald Trump is the closest thing to a sociopath that we have
had in the Oval Office.) You can lie and scheme in your supporting role.
But don’t delude yourself that you give a damn about this country, its heritage, its values, and the bulk of people within its borders. Don’t do that.

I am a freelance investigative journalist and I have just completed a year-long examination of a massive elder abuse and exploitation ring allegedly operated by judges and officers of a Detroit-area probate court.
In March this year, my team and I met with Michigan Attorney General’s lead prosecutor Scott Teter to summarize our findings and seek comment.
He demanded case files and names. Given that families had entrusted us with their information, despite fear of reprisals, I refused stating I would be glad to discuss it with them after publication and, with their blessing, turn over the relevant information.
A victim’s advocate met with Teter and was told by him that any criminal investigation of that court was contingent on my turning over the information prior to publication as well as an additional command to “Back off” discussing the subject on social media.
This did not come to me via subpoena but a handwritten note signed by Teter.
The AG budget for 2018 was $101 million. Mine, for 12 months work, was $24,000.
